Permissionless whitelisting of Osmosis and Cosmos Hub channels

Proposing to permissionlessly whitelist the flow of all assets in between Namada ↔ Osmosis and Namada ↔ Cosmos Hub.

  • ERC20 assets need to flow through Cosmos Hub using IBC Eureka to enter/exit Namada
  • Polaris asset integration relies on the existing Namada ↔ Osmosis channel

Permissionless whitelisting is now possible with Namada version ≥ v201.0.7.

Similar channel whitelisting has been performed on the Housefire testnet several times, for example in Prop 72.

The code that we desire to execute can be found here. We’d like to whitelist channel-1 and channel-2, which are respectively Osmosis and Cosmos Hub.

Once Proposal 41 passes, will https://metrics.namada.net/ be able to capture all assets?

MathNodes voted in favor of prop 41, but this is a good question. Would be nice to see metrics updated for all known assets.

Not immediately, but https://metrics.namada.net will be updated appropriately in due time.
