shielded.namada.net and wallet.namada.net unavailable + Android wallet support?

Hello Namada team and community,

I’ve noticed that shielded.namada.net and wallet.namada.net have been unavailable for a while.

Are these interfaces discontinued or temporarily offline?

Also, are there any plans to release an official Android-compatible wallet (CLI or GUI), or to make the CLI work with Termux?

Thank you!

hi! i can’t speak to the namada(dot)net pages–tagging @chris & @cwgoes

however, there are at least three mobile wallets in development, including TNSO’s https://namadawallet.com

we expect an uptick in mobile development with initiatives like

@Quantum-Crypt if you’re up for testing and giving feedback, that would be amazing. we’re about to make a forum post about community testing of mobile wallets, would love your support

:warning: mobile wallets have not yet been audited, as far as i know, so probably best to use tokens that you’re ready to lose :warning:

I’m not sure what these URLs might have previously pointed to, but Heliax is not currently aiming to offer any services on them. Heliax does operate a Namadillo instance which can be reached at https://namadillo.app, if that’s what you’re looking for.

Are there problems when running the CLI with Termux?

@Quantum-Crypt, grateful if you were to join Testing Namada Mobile Wallets

Thanks for the offer. Can you pay for testing and development with other cryptocurrencies besides NAM?

cwgoes, yes, I tried using Namada CLI with Termux on Android, but unfortunately it’s not currently compatible. There are no official builds for aarch64-android, and the existing binaries do not run properly in the Termux environment. It seems Namada CLI is only built for Linux/macOS targets at this time.
