Hello everyone! The dry-run has been a success, we’ve accomplished everything that we set out to complete, and it is time to kill the network and make preparations for mainnet on Tuesday.
Here is a summary of all that we accomplished:
- We successfully executed a decentralized chain launch within 3 minutes of the dry-run genesis time. Within 25 minutes of the chain launch, we had 181 out of 205 pre-genesis validators active and signing blocks, comprising over 79% of the total voting power.
- We successfully navigated through all phases of mainnet with swift and overwhelming support from the community through governance.
- We significantly improved the Namadillo front-end with the help of community feedback.
- We tested the UX of Ledger hardware usage, which became available thanks to the extension of the original dry-run timeline.
- We orchestrated a software upgrade and hard-fork of the chain with incredibly short notice and intentionally rushed coordination. Though there were some hiccups and a chain halt for about a day, we were ultimately successful, which in my opinion was a massive achievement considering the circumstances. This was ultimately an incredibly useful exercise for preparing to coordinate any software upgrades and hard forks in the future of mainnet.
- We successfully tested connecting mainnet Noble USDC over IBC.
- We ran the chain since November 12 and had incredible community support for infrastructure like IBC relayers, block explorers, public RPCs, and much more.
I would like to thank the validator and user community for your hard work and time dedicated in participating in this dry-run. It was very inspiring to see so many of you show up and be engaged day-in and day-out.
Get excited for mainnet!! We at Heliax certainly are - see you soon .
P.S. please remember to take your dry-run nodes offline!!
