The dry-run of mainnet has been generally a success so far. Thank you so much to the community for orchestrating such an effective decentralized launch and for smoothly testing the transitions between the different phases of mainnet. To summarize some things we have accomplished:
Coordinated to move from Phase 1 to Phase 5 in a smooth and timely manner
Tested that all functionality works (and doesn’t work) as intended in each phase before Phase 5
Tested the Namadillo front-end interface and provided valuable community feedback that has helped the team to make daily improvements to it.
With the dry run announced to be extended until Thursday November 28, I’d like to make the first proposal that mainnet genesis (Phase 1) occur during the following week, sometime in the range of December 2 - 6. Please share thoughts on the viability of this week for mainnet.
ITRocket team is fully ready to launch our validator node and set up all necessary infrastructure on any day between December 2–6. We’re excited to support the mainnet network and provide reliable tools like RPCs, Seed, Peer, snapshots, and monitoring. Let’s make this launch a success together!
We fully support the Mainnet launch on any day between December 2 and 6, preferably December 4 (Wednesday), as it allows the team and validators a buffer to react before the weekend. In any case, let’s go!
Engines on! I’d opt for December 2, 3 or 4, in a mid-week overall coordination could be easier. In some countries like Spain there’s no work day on December 6 for a religious festivity.
The OriginStake team is also ready for the above mentioned times between December 1st and 15th which is fine. We have also started setting up the necessary infrastructure like RPC, IBC for Namada. Maybe we should lock in a specific time that suits the majority of Validators and create a vote? For example, lock in a date like December 5th with about 4 time zones for everyone to vote so that they can participate with the most voting power possible.
5ElementsNodes is aligned with the proposed dates and finds the week of December 2-6 suitable for mainnet genesis. We will ensure both the RPC and the Interface are fully operational and publicly accessible as quickly as possible to support the launch.
December 3 is perfect for the mainnet Genesis. The team’s got sometime to make sure all functionality work before Mainnet. Let’s Go! The community is ready!
I’m with Daniel that mid-week is best (leaves some buffer time on both ends). The following need taken care of before launch imo:
ledger app
Ram issue
Especially getting the Ram bloat issue under control is important. (this refering to namadan process taking up an excessive amount of memory over time, not cometbft which seems to respect config params).
we’re game for this window! suggesting 15:00 UTC, being an ideal time, globally
reminder: we should reserve any precise mainnet date for media outlets (so that they don’t get scooped)
perhaps @brentstone could privately select a mainnet date within the Dec 2 - 5 window? (pls not Dec 6 )
then share that date with @Zach to coordinate with media ahead of posting here, with… five days of notice for validators?
echoing that we need the Namada Ledger app updated in Ledger Live: Proposing Mainnet Genesis Time - #10 by preto
many token-holders need full Ledger support to participate. we (Knowable) would advocate to delay at least Phase 2 (staking inflation), if not the mainnet date itself if the app isn’t updated in the next few days or so–like Nov 26
the momentum’s been amazing, and it’s impressive how smooth everything has been
