Spotlight: 25m NAM conviction-based delegation initiative 🔦

hi @lithiumdigital! happen to have a link to the Namada cross-chain privacy guide you published?

hey @cman_crypto,

i’m very excited about this

we need a high overview of what’s happening in the Namada stack to ensure reliability, security, and to surface + promote high quality infra providers

the Namada-API is new to me, but if it’s what i think it is, i’m excited to try it :fire:

we’ll begin by delegating 2.3m NAM to Kleomedes (including 300k to balance out lack of AF delegation)

hey @deNodes! you’ve been a solid Discord admin :raising_hands:

we’ve found your infra services to be solid

do you have a sense for how much deNodes App is being accessed by the Namada community? infra/validators in particular. it looks great. could be worth collaborating with folks like @maxpower-01, @RuslanGlaznyov @cman_crypto and anyone else working on infra monitoring

we’ll begin by delegating 1.1m NAM to deNodes (including 200k NAM for your uptime in the dreaded SE)

hey @RuslanGlaznyov! we value how proactive you’ve been in working on integrations (sorry you’ve been blocked), and your infra services have been pretty solid

can you tell me more about the Lava multisig UI and how you think it can help accelerate Namada DAO adoption?

regarding infra monitoring, would you be willing to collaborate with folks @maxpower-01 @deNodes @RuslanGlaznyov @cman_crypto? i wonder what we could come up with all together (instead of separate efforts)

we’ll begin by delegating 800k NAM to MELLIFERA validator

hey @CosmicValidator, you’re collaborating as a team, no? (not solo)

how are things coming with https://namada.omniflix.co? any killer features in store?

an idea: something Namadillo doesn’t seem to do is to allow arbitrary transaction decryption. like if i send a transparent-to-shielded transaction, i can’t prove to the sender that i sent it. is that something you think could be in the Omniflix interface?

also open to other interesting ideas that would offer a unique value proposition, if you (or anyone else) has any. (tagging @brentstone @chris @zenodeapp @preto @cwgoes also, but no pressure!)

we’ll begin by delegating 700k NAM to CosmicValidator (which includes 200k for your SE uptime score)

hey @888Tnso!

https://namadascan.io is returning a 502 for me

pretty excited about your mobile app :fire: probably the most straightforward Namada use-case is payments, and we think mobile support is key to that. what’s the status? what can / can’t someone do with it?

it will be important for a third party like Heliax (or maybe Informal Systems?) to review how keys are managed and secured before people use this for substantial funds, but tbh it’s probably very useful regardless for smaller amounts

we’ll begin with delegating 1.8m NAM to the 888</>Tnso validator

small thing, fyi looks like Unified Shielded Set is doubled on your site

hey @Spir! appreciate your long-time engagement

there are a number of Namada explorers, currently–what do you think would most improve the Namada explorer user experience?

Yes, sign us up!

Building out our Vido tooling was quite a lot of development effort. We commissioned this build as part of the Coordinape community builder’s program before mainnet.

We have configured our mainnet validator with ~ 50K NAM bonded and currently waiting for the 2 epochs bonding time before we are signing.

If you flip the Dev mode switch on Namadillo you can enable ‘Sign arbitrary’

But that is not to dissuade from the Omniflix guys implementing it

Thank you very much for your support!

We will continue to deliver the infra monitoring and we’d love to collaborate with all of the other infra builders.

In terms of collaboration- we are already operating the RPC load balancer, Indexer load balancer as well as providing our database’s API’s for anyone to use - but we’re keen to deliver more and we’d be more than happy to work with other contributors to do so!

this feature is just half of View, Sign & Verify Message Signatures | Etherscan

but i’m looking for a receipt–a verifiable way to prove an amount has been sent to a znam

Hi @Gavin

I believe that having many explorers on the market right now is not as important as having multiple teams continuing to improve a single product together. Especially in the case of Namada, there isn’t much room for compatible dApps, or it’s simply too difficult to build on. That’s why we decided to build an explorer, truthfully it’s been a dream of ours as validators. It’s meaningful in that it contributes to the Namada ecosystem while also helping us grow through the development process. We’re learning as we go, and the past two years with Namada have already helped us improve significantly.

As for the explorer itself, we want to create something easy to use, not overly flashy, but with all the essential information most importantly, something human-readable. We aim to avoid overwhelming users with complicated or hard-to-read data. Users simply want to understand what’s happening with their transactions, they’re not necessarily interested in all the technical details. We’ll still include enough depth to support those who need to dive deeper.

I can’t promise how good it will be, but I can promise we’ll do our very best. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Noted! Thanks for the clarification

great! @dismad could you please make forum post in Ecosystem & Strategy > Ideas & initiatives

something like Introducing a new Namada metrics dashboard
to introduce the initiative, so folks can follow along, ask questions, help out, etc. probably worth mentioning your validator for delegations and a tnam/znam for tips

when you launch your validator, please let me know and we’ll begin by delegating 800k NAM to [ZecHub] (which will include 300k to balance out the lack of AF delegation)
