Spotlight: 25m NAM conviction-based delegation initiative 🔦

Namada’s Phases of Mainnet are wrapping up, and a new chapter is starting :open_book:
Activity’s picking up faster than expected, so it’s time to place some bets :fire:

Spotlight: Conviction-Based Delegation Initiative

Luminara :dim_button: has 25 million NAM ready to delegate to validators (and prospective validators) who will help move Namada forward over the next three months. Ready to develop tools, content, community, security, growth, support, or more?

Recent Anoma Foundation delegation: [Yes / No]

Note:

  • Each delegation amount depends on the commitment(s), but 500k to 1.5m NAM is what we’re aiming for
  • Higher commission rates are better–we won’t delegate to 0-commission validators
  • Limit to 2 commitments, can be just 1 commitment though
  • Keep each section max 50 words (yes, we’ll check). Count words or use AI to help keep your answers under the word limits
  • To confirm you’ve read carefully, please include the word “Spotlight” in your reply

Have nothing started yet?

That’s okay. Pitches are welcome—just help us understand what you’re planning and how it will matter. Worried you can’t deliver? We won’t be mad! We will just move on to the next bet, so the worst case is some reputation risk.

:spiral_calendar: Timeline

  • Delegations begin ~June 14 and run through ~June 28
  • Check-in ~Aug 7
  • Next Spotlight round opens ~Sep 7

After two months we’ll reconnect to see what’s unfolding: what’s working, what’s changed, and where we may want to increase, decrease, or re-allocate bets. No one gets publicly called out–we’re just trying to steer toward impact as we learn.

If your initiative is ongoing, you’re welcome to share an update (more about this later) and request continued delegation in September. If things stalled or pivoted, no shame—share what you learned. If you’re starting something new, submit again. Each round is a fresh chance to re-align with what Namada needs now.

:light_bulb: We’re Looking For

Improvements to:

  • User experience (privacy best practices, docs, onboarding, shielded UX)
  • Tooling (dashboards, testnets, dev infra)
  • Ecosystem growth (cross-chain, events, partnerships, integrations)
  • Governance & coordination (community forums, proposals)
  • Security & reliability (monitoring, testing, hardening)

But anything that helps Namada grow counts—design, education, research, community care, and invisible maintenance work all matter.

Need ideas or inspiration?

:bullseye: No grants, no program. Just bets.

Luminara won’t have a formal program for any of the ecosystem support we engage in. Insights here.

We’re making conviction-based delegations, like early-stage investors backing energy and potential. Some bets won’t land, we expect that. We’ll adapt and move our spotlights :flashlight:

This isn’t zero-sum—many bets can win.
We’re not looking for polish. Just clarity, momentum, and a good hunch.

Have something brewing? Or a bold idea with real 3-month potential?
Show us :eyes: Let’s put a spotlight on it :bright_button:

With your personal input, discord moderators received 90-180k coins. Now you are suggesting that validators receive 2k coins (they will not earn more in 3 months from your delegation). And you also want them to create quality products for these pennies, monitor nodes, infrastructure, etc.

In this project, the mainnet validator at the tail of the active set, on whose shoulders the network was held, earned 100 coins in half a year. And you give 100 coins to some bot in discord with $thank cmd, who answered some stupid question. You are just kidding.

We discovered a bug in testnet 11: In testnet 11, through testing, we discovered that if an unjailed validator runs the unjail command again, it will create two instances of that validator, and consensus will break. Bengt gave us a shoutout for breaking testnet 11: https://discord.com/channels/833618405537218590/1062301142727524383/1138854640578994367

Today’s price is a problem of user base, and it is also a must for ignition safety startup. How to increase the user base, how to be on the same line with users, care about user needs, realize user needs, and at the same time realize the interests of our own ecology. In order to make the business model take the lead, I have submitted many suggestions to DC management, but they have not been made public. I hope the project party can pay attention to it.
