The second Namada Donor Drop concluded a few days ago, and it’s clear the support for the cypherpunk spirit is alive and thriving. This event was a lively ping on the radar of privacy advocates who channeled significant support towards Web3Privacy Now in just a short time.
Congrats to @namada and @web3privacy such a cool way to bootstrap an airdrop! https://t.co/t0uM0bL0UR pic.twitter.com/0Av8SAtnMc

In 70 minutes, 241 participants donated a total of 50.3 ETH, worth approximately $100,000 USD at the time. A great demonstration of momentum that can build when grassroots privacy supporters come together around a goal!
We just get 100K drop from @namada community.

Amazing contribution from so many people. It really helps us to scale, secure contributors future, make projects sustainable & focus on what really matters. https://t.co/2qLeJXNiBX
The Donor Drop, a novel Public Goods Funding mechanism pioneered by Luminara, allows participants to support public goods while receiving a community’s token in recognition of their support. In this instance, contributors sent ETH to Web3Privacy Now’s Ethereum address and there will be a PGF governance proposal asking voters to airdrop the participants’ NAM tokens from the Namada ecosystem.
Web3Privacy Now has become a cultural epicenter for teams, communities, and individuals answering the call to return to cypherpunk roots–namely, digital privacy.
W3PN hosts events, creates educational content and research reports, advocacy, and social initiatives that bind us together as a community–beyond Namada, but within crypto. They have already shared a little bit about the plans for future exchange between our two communities, and those two blurbs can be found here and here.
Biggie UP
a SHOUT OUT to all the people who put in work critical to this event being created and launched.
Contributors @zenodeapp @sirouk @rigorous @gavin @spork @anon and many others were indispensable both in their back-end working creating the Donor Drop App and tally system, as well as shaping the coordination-layer and UX of the drop to give participants the best possible involvement.
Their efforts, alongside the entire Namada community, showcase the potential of decentralized funding mechanisms to support crucial initiatives in the crypto ecosystem.
This successful event follows January’s inaugural Donor Drop, which raised 36.78 ETH for Coin Center in just 30 minutes. The momentum behind these events underscores the increasing demand for privacy-focused projects and the community’s readiness to support them directly.
Next Steps
Moving into the after stages of Round 2, there are a few things for participants and others to be on the lookout for.
A spreadsheet was used to record donation info during the campaign. We have been able to correlate every donation to a tnam address, so we believe that this list is now complete.
That spreadsheet can be found here. We recommend that if you participated, you scan through to check for your tnam address and confirm things for yourself. This is our corrected and finalized list, so if you are not on this spreadsheet please reach out to “Dave | Slow Portals” on the Namada Discord and let us know. After we’ve posted proof of any corrections, this will be used to draft a Namada PGF governance proposal.
The Namada community will review the proposed addresses, the governance proposal will be launched, and voters will be responsible for approving the airdrop distribution.
60 days after the governance proposal passes, NAM will automatically be airdropped to donors.
If you have questions, or need support regarding your Drop participation, please join Namada Discord (Hot Topics channel, Donor Drop Chatter post) for real-time chat & updates.
Thank you again to everyone who participated. Shields UP!
